We offer a variety of neuro-affirming interest-based groups to support neurodivergent children to use their strengths to build connections. Our groups are designed to support children with a range of language levels. To find out which group may be suitable for your child, please contact our friendly reception team.

Group Descriptions

4 Year Old Group

This is a kinder-based school readiness group. The group will focus on all the skills needed to prepare our young people to get ready for school. They will work on learning how to sit in a circle, different ways to greet others, talking in front of other people, how their bodies like to listen, pencil grip, learning to write their name, it builds literacy skills, cutting, pasting, friendships and play. We use evidence-based programs such as Handwriting Without Tears and Little Learners Love Literacy. There will be a combination of floor and table top activities using a multimodal approach to learning.  The group aims to teach a variety of important school readiness skills in a neuro-affirming approach.   

Quest Heroes Group

Quest Masters is an inclusive social group where every child can be the hero of their own adventure! Each week, kids embark on exciting quests filled with creativity, teamwork, and exploration—at their own pace and in their own way. From building forts and crafting magical items to solving puzzles, exploring and meeting imaginative creatures. Every activity is designed to celebrate unique thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving styles.

Whether constructing a new world, hunting for treasures, or acting out daring missions, children will have opportunities to shine, collaborate, and make friends while feeling confident and valued.

Secondary Boys Group

This group is a safe and supportive peer space for neurodivergent male adolescents. The group aims to teach adolescents a variety of important skills in a neuro-affirming approach, including conversations, navigating the social world, regulation, compromise, standing up for yourself, ways to form and maintain friendships, and broader life skills. The goals are client-led and the group is discussion based so that it targets challenges facing adolescents in real time.

Middle Boys Group

The Middle Boys Group is designed to be a safe and encouraging place for neurodivergent boys to learn about neurodiversity, themselves, the skills for friendships, the use of different social languages, managing energy levels, and reducing their anxiety/reluctance around socialisation with others. This is done through video modelling, play, and arts and crafts activities. Each week, a topic is covered that incorporates the principles of neurodiversity, friendship and self-esteem/awareness. We will be using the Social Stencil program as well as a range of neuroaffirming lessons that will directly target the groups individual needs.

Younger Girls Group

The Younger Girls Group is designed to be a safe and encouraging place for neurodivergent girls to learn about neurodiversity, themselves, shared play, self-advocacy, friendship skills and to reduce their anxiety around socialisation with others. This is done through video modelling, play, and arts and crafts activities. Each week, a topic is covered that incorporates the principles of neurodiversity, friendship and self-esteem/awareness whilst incorporating play and interest-based activities.

Arts & Crafts Group

Our Arts & Crafts Social Skills Group is designed to help children explore their creativity while building confidence and connection with others. Through fun, hands-on creative activities, participants will have the chance to express themselves, share ideas, and work alongside peers in a supportive environment.

Throughout the program, children will practise important social skills such as perspective-taking, sharing, turn-taking, flexible thinking, negotiating, compromising, self-advocacy, and showing kindness. Our aim is to help each child grow in both creativity and social confidence while enjoying meaningful group experiences.

Middle Girls Group (Wednesday)

The Middle Girls Group is designed to be a safe and supportive space for neurodivergent girls to explore neurodiversity, relationships, their own identity, and personal growth. It aims to help them develop skills for forming friendships, self-advocacy, and understanding different social languages, while also reducing their anxiety around socialising with others. This is achieved through conversations, activities, video modelling, play, and arts and crafts. Each week, a different topic is covered that highlights the principles of neurodiversity, friendship, and self-esteem/awareness.

Each week, a different topic is covered that highlights the principles of neurodiversity, friendship, and self-esteem/awareness. 

Games Based Group

Our Games Group is designed to support social interactions and provide, fun and strength-based environment where children can learn and practice play-based peer engagement. Through structured games, collaborative activities, and gentle guidance from experienced clinicians, children develop meaningful skills in communication, emotional regulation, turn-taking, flexible thinking, and building friendships.

Each session is designed to meet children where they are, considering their individual needs while helping them to build confidence, and to feel understood and connected. With small group sizes, predictable routines, and a playful approach, our program helps children build real-world social skills transferrable to home, school, and community life.

The group aims to teach a variety of important skills in a neuro-affirming approach, including relationships, boundaries, navigating the social world, regulation, compromise, standing up for yourself, ways to form and maintain friendships, and broader life skills. The goals are client-led and the group is discussion based so that it targets challenges facing adolescents in real time.

After School Interest Based Activity Group

This group will involve fun, interest-based activities and aims to create a supportive, neuro-affirming space for children to engage with like-minded peers. Activities may include games, arts and crafts, sensory activities and exploration of shared interests. Skills such as compromising, sharing ideas, building confidence, developing a growth mindset, building friendships will be targeted while engaging.

Girls Pre-Teen Group

This group will involve navigating the challenges and exciting parts of life as a pre-teen/early teen and aims to create a supportive, neuroaffirming space for girls to engage with like-minded peers. Areas of focus will include self-advocacy skills, neuroaffirming communication, friendships and any areas group participants would like support with. The group will also involve fun activities based on the interests of the participants.
